DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE
COWICHAN RIVER WILDERNESS LODGE
FROM NORTH (NANAIMO OR DUKE POINT FERRY)
· Head south on Hwy.
#1. Drive for approx. 30 minutes
or until Highway 18 junction just north of Duncan .
Look for Herd Road intersecting the highway at a set of
traffic lights.
· Turn right off Hwy #1 onto Hwy #18
heading west to Lake Cowichan
· Travel on this highway
approx. 15-20 min. until you come to the Lake Cowichan “Welcome”
sign with 2 bears on it.
1.
Drive into Lake Cowichan on
main road and cross the bridge by the Riverside Inn Hotel and
restaurant.
2. Immediately after crossing this bridge,
turn
left onto King George Rd.
3.
Follow King George straight up on to the "round-about".
4.
Enter the "round-about" and take your 3rd exit onto Sahtlam Rd.
5.
Travel along
this road as it changes names along the way to Grants Lake Rd. Keep going
until you come to Hudgrove Rd.
6. Follow Hudgrove Rd. for 3.5 km to the very end through the stone gates. We are #7461 Hudgrove Road.
DIRECTIONS FROM SOUTH (VICTORIA AIRPORT
OR FERRY TERMINAL)
· Head toward
the city of Victoria on Highway #17 from
the Airport or ferry and follow signs to Nanaimo heading
north via Highway #1
· You will be actually coming to
Duncan but the signage will direct you to the bigger city
of Nanaimo which is beyond Duncan. It will take you
approx. 1 hour to reach Duncan.
· Drive north, through the city of Duncan
still on Highway #1, and watch for the left turn
off at a set of lights to get onto the Highway #18
heading west to Lake Cowichan. This will be about 3
minutes north of Duncan.
· Travel west on Highway #18 approx. 20 min. until
you come to the Lake Cowichan “Welcome” sign with 2 bears on top of
it.
Follow directions 1 thru 6 above.
